You will get the opportunity to make several pairs of lively, bold polymer clay earrings while learning different clay techniques such as slab making and caning . Experiment with colour, pattern and shape to create yourself some exciting new accessories.

In this class, students will be guided through the fundamentals of hand building ceramics to create functional and sculptural wares.
Participants will aim towards 1 -3 works which may take the form of planter pots, mugs, plates, vases or sculptural pieces.
Techniques introduced are pinch pot, slab work, coiling and surface decoration.
This is a beginners/ refresher course and can be done by itself to create unglazed peices, or as part of the full weekend!
If you are familiar with Hand Building Techniques consider instead the workshop on Sunday 23rd July.

In this workshop, participants will be guided through projects of their choice, using handbulding techniques to create functional and sculptural ceramic wares. There will be a particular emphasis on tips and tricks to unlock and translate your creative voice.
Techniques explored include but are not limited to: pinch pot, slab work, coiling and surface decoration
Participants will aim towards 1 -3 works which may take the form of planter pots, mugs, plates, vases or scupltural pieces, with an aim to develop a cohesive collection/ unique visual style.
This workshop is for people who have done some hand built ceramics before, please book into Intro to Handbuilding the day prior if you would like to attend the whole weekend!

Flavour maestro at Lucky Bat Cafe, Danny Crichton is a bit of a drinks whizz. Bottling and fermenting and reducing are some of his favourite tricks.
In this afternoon workshop participants will learn how to make their own syrups and tonic for drinks and cocktails. Learn about flavours and techniques that are sure to impress your guests and your taste buds and bring your drinks game to the next level.
Whether it's homegrown cordial for the kids, or boutique tonic syrup for the adults - don't miss your chance to make beverage magic.

Anna will share her personal routines for making work; going for image collection walks, journal techniques, preliminary setup sketches, framing and creating and developing the colour palette. You will receive insight into painting on wood including how to achieve sharp edges, colour layers and balancing impasto and watercolour elements in the one piece. The second day will see you playing with Anna's techniques or generating your own response to these.

Participants will create three dimensional bird sculptures using paper mache. We will construct our birds drawing on inspiration from other artists and then be tutored in various painting techniques and guided in painting their sculptures to create a beautiful, decorative sculpture to take home.

Weave and manifest your hopes and dreams for positive change using ghost nets as well as other recycled man-made debris. These nets, which are so named as they continue fishing without human hands,are the refuse from fishing vessels from throughout the world, washing up on the beaches and bringing with it much of our marine life. Use ghost nets and other recycled materials to make an aquatic sea creature basket, sculpture or bag.
Includes drinks in the courtyard at the end of the workshop.

Semi-Pro Brewing Co's Mick in a one day workshop to learn the basic of brewing plus some of the company's tips and tricks. The workshop will focus on brewing fundamentals where all participants will make a Tropical Pale Ale using a combination of extract and grain to enjoy through the wet. All participants will go away with 20L of wort to ferment out at home plus a full instruction manual so you can replicate the workshop at home.
You will need to cool your wort post workshops in a fridge and then be able to keep it at 18c frigate while it ferments; perfect use for the Darwin beer fridge! We can lend you a fermenter if needed.

Home-made pickles have a delicate and delicious sourness that you just can’t get from a store-bought product and they are incredibly versatile as well.
Participants will make 2 jars, one a vinegar based pickle, the other is a traditional fermented sauerkraut.

Inviting you to heighten your senses as you move through a transitory program of discussion, new media and audio works while feasting on a three course meal prepared by locals whose businesses call Rapid Creek Shops home.
This is an opportunity to take some time to generously connect and listen to our everyday entangled collaborators.
This work is part of the MarketMarket program celebrating and exploring the home of the Rapid Creek Markets through the eyes of local creatives. Alongside this, is a national artist-led lab with a curated program of discussions, meals and workshops to learn, interrogate and foster new collaborations between local, and visiting artists.
Ticket includes the creative program entry and three course meal.
